Overview - Week 12

Unit 2 Self-advocacy In Action and Tutorials

We will continue to use tutorials as students complete the request form and focus on organization from last unit.  We will introduce communication and email etiquette as a way to practice self-advocacy in the school setting.  In order to practice self-advocacy and taking responsibility for ourselves, we will begin to use learning logs on Study Hall Thursdays.

We will develop our communication skills (emails) in order to practice one way to self advocate.

We will create an organizational goal for this unit.

We will use learning logs during our Study Hall Thursdays in order to take responsibility for our work and time management.

Objective

By the end of this week...

• Participants will continue to use their daily planners.
• Participants will successfully participate in a tutorial if needed.
• Participants will demonstrate the ability to compose an effective email in order to advocate for themselves.
• Participants will correctly complete a learning log in order to use time well when we have a study hall.
